It's been a difficult decision, but I've come to realize that it is time for me to bid farewell to Buzznet.  It's been a fun two years, but as everyone knows - I am addicted to change, so I am also actually really excited to announce that I have packed my virtual bags and moved my blog to Tumblr.

I'm not really going to talk much about the reasons for this decision, but I will say that it has nothing to do with the Buzznet community or my blog. I have enjoyed every question, comment, and interaction I have had with all of the members of this network, and have always enjoyed writing and creating my blogs.

I was given two options in regards to continuing as an official Buzznet correspondent, but this is the path I have chosen. I toyed with doing a blog independent of everything and everyone else, but there is something to be said for the social aspect of Buzznet and that sense of community, so until I have a better reason not to, I will be officially stationed at Tumblr.

I will be hosting my inspiration blog there, and it will also be the home of my official blog - I Hate Michael Shirley.I don't know how many of you have used Tumblr, but it is truly an astounding and artistic social network that is making leaps and bounds past many of Buzznet's capabilities.

I am keeping my URL the same, ihatemichaelshirley.com, so it will be easy for everyone to keep reading, but I felt I needed to give a proper farewell, before I suddenly disappeared! So don't be shy - drop in sometime!

What is the coolest thing you've gotten at a vintage store recently? I got a really awesome blazer with a velvet graphic of a goat head on the back, that I am really excited to wear. It's so awesome. I feel like it's previous owner was some satanist. I am always infinitely curious about the previous owners of my vintage finds.

A mix of super heroism, '90s shoegaze-grunge, and indian spirit never hurt anyone. Here is a close-up of my look today.

What is your style like lately? I've been drawing a lot of inspiration from Gregg Araki movies and super hero costumes this week.

On Monday, I received a visit from my dear friend Caitlin Crosby.  Caitlin is one of the most beautiful, talented, selfless, and inspirational people I have ever met. During our visit, she gave me a piece from her new, pay-it-forward fashion project: The Giving Keys.

When you buy or are given a "giving key," you must give it away at some point, to a person who you feel needs the message that’s on your key. After you give the key away, you go to www.thegivingkeys.com and write a brief story about why you gave it away.

The Giving Keys are available online and at Fred Segal. I also found out that they are going to be featured on a new show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network! I think that's just so awesome.

Caitlin also has another amazing project I've blogged about before called Love Your Flawz, which is about owning your flaws and not being ashamed of them. Check it out - it's such a great organization. And be on the lookout for Caitlin's new role in the 2nd season of The Hard Times of RJ Berger!
