I met Beth Ditto right around Halloween last year. I snuck backstage after a free show she played at Amoeba Records in Hollywood where all the lights went out and the show had to end in the middle of the first song. People were literally chasing after me to catch me. She was like home base, because once I managed to get to her we started talking and laughing and security scattered. She was wearing this necklace of doll parts a fan had given her. I had the LA Weekly from that week and she was on the cover, so she signed it and drew a pumpkin on it along with a special message, "Remember when the lights went out? XO" It now hangs in my dressing area.
